2025 Sewing Recap

As we are about to enter 2026, it is a great time to look back on 2025. 2025 was a year in which I spent a lot of time sewing. I have created some amazing pieces and some less amazing pieces. I attempted sewing basics and worked more with knit fabric than ever before. Let’s reflect my sewing year!

I have sewn 32 garments in total:

  • 7 tops

  • 7 blouses

  • 2 vests

  • 5 sweaters

  • 4 pair of pants

  • 6 dresses

  • 1 pajamas

All of these garments were made with a pattern. I used 18 different patterns by 12 different companies, of which 16 were patterns I hadn’t sewn before. I took part in 3 pattern tests and 2 patterns are free.

My longest project took nearly 14 hours, where my quickest project took only 1.5 hours.

My most sewn pattern is the Nicks Blouse by Closet Core, which I have made 4 times in total. The runner ups are the Turtleneck Top by Kiana Bonollo and the Saguaro Pants by Friday Pattern Company, I sewed both these patterns 3 times.

Right, let’s see all the pieces I have made!

Pajamas

As you might have seen in the product pictures, halfway through the year my pictures started to look different. Photography is another hobby of mine, and I decided to invest a little more time in taking good pictures of all of the pieces I made. I think they look better and I have fun taking them, so that is a win-win situation!

Choosing a favorite make is like choosing a favorite child. There are quite a few contenders for the favorite spot, all of them because of a different reason. There is no way to compare them equally, so I’m not going to choose. Just know that I wear all of my makes with pride!

Looking back on all these makes, I am nothing but pleased and proud of what I have created. I sewed so much more than I thought I would, and I am very happy that I am able to fill my wardrobe with handmade pieces. I have not grown tired of sewing yet, so I will definitely continue sewing in 2026. Whether I will level 32 makes, we shall have to wait and see, but I am looking forward to the (sewing)year that is ahead!
